Speaking and Professional Development

When Professor Giannini is not teaching at Cedar Crest College or writing, he is actively engaged in spreading the word about marketing public relations.  He frequently presents to college faculty about teaching PR and social media in a marketing context.  In addition he speaks and conducts professional development seminars for marketing practitioners and business owners in partnership with trade groups and business associations.  Professor Giannini can present to your group in any of the following formats.

Keynote/Information Session (45-60 minutes)

These sessions are focused on demonstrating the benefits of marketing public relations to businesses, highlighting examples of successful MPR campaigns, and offering suggestions on how businesses can use MPR techniques to increase sales and brand awareness.

Information Session-Long Format (2 ½ hours)

Long Format Information Sessions expand on the ideas presented in the Keynote/Information Sessions by discussing specific tools and tactics in detail.  Participants will be given a hands-on opportunity to apply the principles of MPR and will receive individual feedback from  Professor Giannini.

Professional Development Symposium (2 days)

The Professional Development Symposia are two day workshops in which participants delve deeply into MPR by reviewing state-of-the-art tools and tactics and by creating MPR documents for use in their business or as portfolio pieces.  Symposia participants will produce several PR pieces, will understand how social media works in their industry, and will create an outline of an MPR plan that they can initiate for their business.

Professional Development Academy (two 2 day sessions over 6 months)

The academy takes the symposium a step further by asking participants to take what they learned and developed in the first session and to transform it into a working MPR campaign.  The academy includes time for each participant to receive an evaluation and recommendations from Professor Giannini between the sessions via phone and other electronic means.  The second session focuses on refining the individual campaigns and covering advanced topics that focus on creating competitive advantage using MPR.

Instructor’s Colloquium (2 ½ hours)

This session is specifically designed for those who aspire to teach an MPR course or for marketing instructors who are looking to enhance the MPR component of their principles, marketing management, or marketing strategy classes.  Professor Giannini will discuss pedagogy as well as MPR current events and then will open up the floor for group discussion and shared learning.
